*A census tract is a geographic area defined by the United States Census Bureau and used for the census. A census tract normally covers a smaller area than a city or zip code. On average, a census tract has around 4,200 residents. Census tracts are more uniformly distributed in terms of the number of residents than cities or zip codes.
